David K. Lynch, 24, is wanted in connection with a Brockton murder in November and multiple gun and drug charges, Massachusetts State Police said

The chase began around 3 p.m. when troopers spotted Lynch sitting in a BMW X1 SUV in the parking lot of a Holiday Inn in Middleborough. Police attempted to block him in, but Lynch rammed two patrol cars and sped away down Route 44 toward Raynham, officials said.

He lost police briefly in the chase, but Lynch crashed the SUV into a car at the intersection of Orchard and Warren streets. The driver of that car, a 32-year-old woman from Taunton, was seriously injured in the wreck, authorities said.

She was rushed to Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton for treatment and later transferred to a Boston hospital. She was listed in serious condition, authorities said.

Meanwhile, Lynch jumped from his SUV and tried to run away, but police were able to chase him down. He was also brought to Good Samaritan before being transferred to Boston Medical Center, where he remains under police guard, authorities said.

Investigators also said they found two guns and drugs in Lynch's wrecked BMW. In addition to his pre-existing charges, Lynch picked up more firearm and drug offenses, assault with a dangerous weapon, operating to endanger, failure to stop for police, and other motor vehicle crimes, police said.

Demarje Taylor, 23, the passenger in the BMW, was treated and released from Good Samaritan Hospital. He was arrested on gun possession charges, authorities said.

Lynch is accused of shooting a man on Nov. 2 on West Park Street in Brockton following an altercation, police said. The man later died of his wounds. Lynch also faces charges of armed assault, nine firearms offenses, and two counts of trafficking fentanyl, authorities said.

The severity of his crimes made him one of the state's most wanted criminals.
